TIANJIN is a Central Municipal, it is situated in the northeastern
part of the north China Plain in the Bohai Sea Gulf region on the
western coast of the Pacific Ocean. The city covers a total area
of 11,919.7 square kilometers with a coastline of 153 kilometers.
The annual average temperature is standing at around 11C. Tianjin
boasts a large number of cultural sites, scenic spots, and many
other tourist resources. Tianjin has a total population of 9.85
million.
Natural resources: Tianjin is rich in natural resources,
with more than 30 types of known deposits of metal ores, non-metal
ores and fuel minerals, including an oil deposit of 450 million
tons, a natural gas deposit of 14 billion cubic meters, and a deposit
of geothermal water resources of 110 billion cubic meters, and produces
more than 23 million tons of crude salt annually of about 25% of
annual the sea salt output of China.
Economic development: Tianjin is the largest industrial
and commercial city in north China. Tianjin has formed four major
industrial system sectors: The sector of automobile machinery equipment
manufacture, the sector of micro - electronic and telecommunications
equipment manufacture, the sector of marine chemical and petro-chemical
industry, and the sector of high quality steel pipes and superior
steel manufacture.
Transportation and Telecommunications: Tianjin boasts convenient
and developed transportation facilities, Tianjin is the largest
comprehensive trading port in north China. The port annually handled
more than 65 million tons of cargo yearly. The coastal airport of
Tianjin is capable of handling all types of jumbo passenger and
cargo transport plans. More than 30 international and domestic flights
are using Tianjin Airport daily. Tianjin is connected and the meeting
place of two major railways - the Beijing - Harbin and Beijing -
Shanghai.
The city's tourist industry developed rapidly, the city
received closely to 500,000 international tourists (does not include
domestic tourists), and earned a lot of tourism income from overseas
tourists.
